Edna Mae Jones

Edna Mae Jones of Niles, passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in the emergency room of Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was 89.

Mrs. Jones was born on June 3, 1926 in Youngstown, OH, the daughter of the late Roland and Glennie Dora Rorhbaugh Painter.

Edna attended Niles City Schools. Mrs. Jones was employed as a nurse's aide for the former Glenview Manor and St. Joseph's Hospital for many years.

She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She enjoyed fishing on the causeway at Mosquito Lake with her husband and various other locations throughout the state. Edna loved gardening and planting numerous trees and shrubbery in her yard. Edna cared for her cats and always made sure they were well taken care of.

Her husband Donald H. Jones, whom she married August 18, 1962 in Niles, passed away on June 18, 2015.

Edna is survived by 3 children, Jeannie Snyder and her husband Ronald of Winterville, NC, Kathie Ulrich of Niles, and Evan Andrews and his wife Linda of Edenton, NC; a sister, Betty Geer of Oil City, PA; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by 6 siblings, Ruth Cramer, Bertha Toth, Frank, Robert, Lee and Raymond Painter; a granddaughter, Dawn Blagovich.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 12 noon. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home and Cremation Services LLC 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446 with Rev. Curtis Miller, pastor of New Hope United Methodist Church.

Inurnment will take place in Niles City Cemetery.
