William L. Quick, 71, of Cortland, died 9:30 AM Monday, April 3, 2006 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 25, 1934 in Ellamore, W. Va., the son of Oral D. and Mabel Wentz Quick, and had lived in Trumbull County since the early 1950s.
Bill served with the military police in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and had worked as a machine operator for ITT Grinnell, retiring in 1996. He was a nature lover and enjoyed nature walks, rocks, flea markets, and collecting.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary Lou (Martindale) Quick, whom he married March 21, 1987; two sons: Phillip L. Quick of Warren and Albert J. Quick of Cortland; his stepmother, Tillie Quick of Buckhannon, W. Va.; three grandchildren: Daniel, Christopher, and Kayla Marie Quick, all of Warren; two brothers: Charles Quick of Baltimore, Maryland and Dane Quick of West Virginia; and a sister, Pamela Murray of Punxsutawney, Pa. Preceding him in death are his parents and two brothers, Myron and Ronald Quick.
A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM Friday, April 7, 2006 in the chapel of First United Methodist Church, 309 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio, with Rev. Kory Tedrick and Rev. Scott Uhlinger officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1296 Tod Place N.W., Warren, Ohio 44485.
