William T. Meyer, 67, of Leavittsburg, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 16, 1943 in Warren, the son of Joseph and Pearl (Devlin) Meyer, and had lived in Trumbull County all his life.
A graduate of St. Mary's High School, Mr. Meyer was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and worked as a foreman for Schaefer Equipment. A member of Christ Our King Catholic Church, he also belonged to the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, flowers, woodworking, and his grandchildren's sports.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy (Herrington) Meyer, whom he married November 14, 1964; two daughters: Sandra (Dennis) Sneed of Arkansas and Melinda (Randy) Odom of South Carolina; two sons: William "Buck" (Barb) Meyer of Braceville and Joseph (Gina) Meyer of Champion; eight grandchildren: Kelsea and Chelsea Sneed, Taylor Odom, and Morgan, Zachary, Connor, Anthony, and Isabella Meyer; and four sisters: Norma Louise Medzie of Champion, Helen Nolan of Warren, and Wilma Wojtowicz and Patricia Henry, both of Leavittsburg. Preceding him in death are his parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Fr. James Walker officiating. Full military honors will be conferred following the service. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The burial of his urn will take place at a later date at All Souls Cemetery.
