RUDOLPH - William Andrew Elliott, 60, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, April 8, 2011.
Andy, as he was known, was born March 10, 1951, in Ravenna.
Andy received both his undergraduate degree and master's degree from Bowling Green State University. He also served as an instructor at BGSU for a number of years. He worked within the community as a counselor for those with addiction issues at the Wood County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, with those incarcerated at the Wood County Justice Center, and with those in crisis as the director of the Link Crisis Hot Line.
Two of his great life pleasures were motorcycles and running. He enjoyed riding both dirt and road bikes. He also enjoyed running marathons and participating in triathlons.
Those of us who knew him and loved him will miss his smile, his kindness and his generosity.
He is survived by his mother, Edith Elliott of Warren; and one daughter, Lindsay N. Elliott of Bowling Green.
His father, William "Bill" Elliott, preceded him in death.
A m emorial service for Andy will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 315 S. College Ave., Bowling Green.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home.
