Wilda W. Wells

CHAMPION: Wilda W. Wells, 99, died on October 15, 2015. She was born on May 23, 1916 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Bert and DeSylvia Mae (Offutt) Ward.

Wilda lived in the Warren area her entire life, held a variety of jobs such as working for Packard Electric, Copperweld, and for the YWCA as a swim instructor. She was best know as a homemaker and keeping all the family in line, and was very active until the end of her life. Wilda was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brother, John Ward of Cortland; sister, Joanne Clute of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and a cousin.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Donald, whom she was married for 70 years and died in 2010; brothers, Norman and Richard Ward; sisters, Dorothy Haller, Bernice Simmons.

The family is honoring Wilda's wishes to be cremated, and will have a celebration of life service at a later date.
