Wilbur Grubbs

Wilbur Grubbs of Warren, passed away on April 1, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in his residence. He was 86.

Mr. Grubbs was born in Fairview, PA on October 4, 1929, the son of the late Edward and Hettie Miller Grubbs.

Following high school, Wilbur proudly served his country in the United State Navy during the Korean Conflict. Wilbur then went on to obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Gannon University.

He retired in 1994 from Warren Tool Group after 25 years as the Vice President of Finance.

Mr. Grubbs was an active member for over 50 years at the Howland United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Warren Rotary. Wilbur was an avid golfer and after retirement enjoyed traveling with his wife. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family and friends.

His wife, Gloria J. Rosenburg Grubbs, whom he married December 1, 1952, passed away on May 31, 2011.

He is survived by a daughter, Diane (Scott) Taylor of Cortland; 2 sons, Gregory (Ruth) Grubbs of Tryon, NC and Donald (Lynn) Grubbs of Aurora, OH; 4 grandchildren, Tim and Jeff Grubbs and Drew and Brooke Taylor.

In addition to his parents and wife, Wilbur was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood Grubbs.

A memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Howland United Methodist Church 730 Howland Wilson Rd. NE Warren, OH 44484 with Rev. Matt Darrin. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service in the church.
