Wanda Marie Simpkins

Wanda Marie Simpkins, 86, of Warren, died Monday, June 14, 2010 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born September 26, 1923 in Newton Falls, the daughter of Floyd and Gladys (Longenberger) Sinn.

A graduate of Newton Falls High School, she married Charles H. Simpkins of Warren on August 10, 1944 and lived in Warren most of her life. After forty-four years with Beardsley Insurance Agency, she retired and performed many hours of volunteer work at St. Joseph's Hospital and First Presbyterian Church of Warren, where she was a member for over fifty years.

Wanda was also active in Grange activities, serving as an officer for thirty years, and also enjoyed bowling.

Surviving are her husband, Charles H. Simpkins; a son, Jeffrey C. Simpkins of Cope, S.C.; a granddaughter, Anna Marie Simpkins of Cope, S.C.; a sister, Audrey Goynes of Newton Falls; two brothers, Donald and Frank Sinn, both of Newton Falls; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents and two sisters, Virginia Beardsley Wright and Viola Armstrong.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church of Warren, with Rev. Rusty Cowden officiating. Her urn will be laid to rest in the church's columbarium following the service. Friends may call 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
