Virginia M. Winter

Virginia M. "Sudie" Winter, 83, of Warren, died 8:40 AM Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. She was born Wednesday, April 13, 1921, in Rochester, Pa., the daughter of the late Charles and Erna Litten Masters. She was raised in Cameron, W.Va.

Sudie was a graduate of Ohio University and taught home economics at Lakeview High School for many years. She was a member of Living Lord Lutheran Church, Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, and the American Association of University Women. She was formerly a member of the Joy Circle and the Homebuilders Club at First United Methodist Church in Warren. She had been a volunteer for Mobile Meals, and a Pink Lady at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, cross-stitch, knitting, and was an avid bridge player.

Sudie is survived by her husband, Eugene J. Winter, whom she married November 6, 1945; three daughters: Beth Ann (Stephen) LaMantia of Lakewood, Vicki Winter (Fred Maccaron) of North Kingstown, R.I., and Brenda Antenucci of Warren; seven grandchildren: Michael (Dawnya), Matthew, Rebecca, and Amy LaMantia, and Nick, Anthony, and Laura Antenucci; a great-granddaughter, Emma Mae LaMantia; and a sister, Ruth Sypolt of Terra Alta, W.Va.

Preceding Sudie in death are her parents; a twin brother, Charles Masters; and a son-in-law, William Antenucci.

A memorial service will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Living Lord Lutheran Church, 851 Niles Cortland Rd. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44484, with Rev. Timothy Mentzer officiating.
