Virginia Scannell

Cortland,Ohio - Virginia Q Scannell , 95, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Cortland Healthcare Center, Cortland, surrounded by her family. Virginia was born on August 1, 1918 in Franklin, PA, the daughter of the late James and Olive Burley Quinn.

Virginia was a member of member since 1950 of the Trumbull Co. Country Club. Besides her family, the highlight of her life was attending the West Point Military Ball in 1938. She also volunteered as a teacher's aid at Sts. Peter and Paul School.

Memories of Virginia will be carried on by her son, James R. (Karen) Scannell of Poughkeepsie, NY, daughter, Virginia "DD" Scannell of Rochester Hill, MI, son, Michael C. Scannell of Warren, daughter, Mary Anne Scannell of Youngstown, son, Steve C. Scannell of Cortland, 9 grandchildren, and 4, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Scannell, November 1, 1975.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
