Virginia Rowland

Virginia "June" Rowland, 88, of Warren, died Saturday, May 9, 2009 at St. Joseph Health Center. She was born June 14, 1920 in Warren, the daughter of William and Alice Marie (Weider) Naylor, and had lived in the Warren area all her life.

A 1939 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Mrs. Rowland worked as an assembler for Packard Electric for 32 years, retiring in 1980. She attended Harvest Christian Assembly of God in Howland, was a member of MADD and the Women of the Moose, and enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She did volunteer work through the Trumbull Memorial Hospital women's auxiliary for over ten years.

Surviving are nine grandchildren: James T. (Loralyn) Rowland III of Southington, Kathy Rowland of Warren, June (Jeffrey) Kobosky of Stow, Kelli Emerson of Cortland, Michelle (Greg) Rederick of Clearwater, Fla., Laurie (James) McGuire and William S. Rowland, Jr., both of Highland Village, Tex., Daniel S. (Dinah) Rowland of Texas, and Allyson (Aaron) Garcia of Florida; nineteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law, Bonita G. Rowland of Stow and Ellen Rowland of Howland. Preceding her in death are her parents; her first husband, James Rowland; her second husband, Allen G. Reilly; two sons, James and William Rowland; and a brother, William E. Naylor.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Ron Biehl officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
