WARREN, OHIO - Virginia (Ginny) N. Hoyt, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in her home. She was born August 30, 1921 in Warren, the daughter of the late William and Helen (Peck) Nicholas.

Virginia was a graduate of Warren G. Harding and earned her nursing degree from the Trumbull School of Nursing in 1942. She also went on to do graduate studies at Cornell University in New York City. She worked many years at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where she was Assistant Head Nurse on the post-partum floor, she retired in 1986.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Warren, and of the Wesley Ann/Hope Circle. She was also a member and past president of Warren Emblem Club #397 as well as a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, golf, card playing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Cherished memories are left behind with her sons, Jack Hoyt of Warren, William Hoyt of Calhan, CO; daughters, Dr. Nicki (Dr. James) Harrington of Yuba City, CA and Pamela Shimborske of Berlin Center, OH; and a brother; Earl Nicholas of Mississippi, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hoyt, Sr., whom she married October 10, 1945, brothers; Ray and Bill Nicholas, and a sister; Dorothy Leiby.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00pm at First United Methodist Church 309 N. Park Avenue, Warren, OH 44481 in the main Sanctuary, on March 18, 2013 with Rev. Rick Oaks officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Cremation has taken place and final committal will follow with a private service.
