Virginia W. (Wilson) Criddle, 94 ,of Warren, died at 3:00 AM Thursday, January 1, 2004 at Clearview Lantern Suites in Warren.
She was born on Monday, May 10, 1909, in Keyser, WV, the daughter of the late Herbert W. and Eva Pingley Wilson.

Mrs. Criddle was a graduate of Bristol High School and Youngstown State University. She was a teacher in the Warren City Schools, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Mary Chesney Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Retired Teachers Association, and the Trumbull and Bristol Historical Societies. She had been a volunteer at SCOPE, and in 1985 was voted Outstanding Senior Citizen.

Surviving Mrs. Criddle are two daughters: Dorothy Lee (Costi) Mandrean of Warren and Sally Cross of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sons: James Wilson (Janice) Criddle of Edenton, NC and Jack Herbert (Eileen) Criddle of Champion; two sisters: Wanda A. Sass of Washington State and Mildred A. Welty of Bristolville; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Preceding Mrs. Criddle in death are her parents; her husband, Herbert A. Criddle, whom she married June 14, 1929 and who died January 4, 1979; two brothers: W. Cliff Wilson and Herbert W. Wilson; and a sister, Mary E. Wilson.

Services for Mrs. Criddle will be 11:00 AM Monday, January 5, 2004 at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Pastor Dick Faber officiating. Interment will follow at Sager Cemetery in Bristolville. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service.
