Virginia F. Codrin, 92, of Warren, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. She was born December 13, 1918 in Warren, the daughter of Nick and Theresa (Belli) Flora, and had lived in the Warren area most of her life.
Before her marriage to Peter, Virginia worked as a nurse's aide at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, then worked at Packard Electric, in the department where bombs were made for the war effort. Throughout her life, she was an active and devoted member of North Park Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are a sister, Olivia Yova of Warren; a brother, Nick Flora of Akron; two nieces; three nephews; and a host of others who looked up to her as a model of Christian charity and compassion. Her husband, Peter Codrin, whom she married April 14, 1945 and who died in May, 1967, precedes her in death.
A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. The burial of her urn will take place at a later date at Riverview Cemetery in Martin's Ferry, Ohio. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
