There will be memorial services at 11:30 AM Monday, June 7, 2004 at the chapel of Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic Street N.E., Warren, Ohio for Virginia Ralston Campbell, 95, who died Tuesday, June 1 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service in the church's library.
Mrs. Campbell was born November 18, 1908 in Bridgeport, Ohio, the daughter of the late Frank and Nellie Frasier Roberts. She resided in Warren most of her adult life, and most recently was a resident of Shepherd of the Valley in Howland.
Her first husband, Dr. Joseph A. Ralston, whom she married in 1935, died in 1967. Her second husband, Edward J. Campbell, whom she married in 1969, died in 1990. Mrs. Campbell will be greatly missed and remembered by her loving family and friends.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Warren, where, in earlier years, she had been a Sunday School teacher. She had been an active member of the Trumbull County Medical Auxiliary and had served the group as president. She also served as president of the Visiting Nurse Association, and for many years was an active member of the Trumbull County unit of the American Cancer Society. In recent years, Mrs. Campbell enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.
Mrs. Campbell leaves three children: Joseph A. "Duke" (Madonna) Ralston of Stow, Ohio, Constance Ralston (Mrs. F.W. III) Knecht of Boardman, Ohio, and Sue Campbell (Mrs. Richard) Stewart of Warren, Ohio; five grandchildren: Jennifer Ralston (Mrs. Joseph) Moore of Collierville, Tennessee, Grant Joseph Ralston of Stow, Ohio, Deborah Knecht (Mrs. Jonathan) Fetter of Canfield, Ohio, F. Wilson "Will" (Jennifer) Knecht IV of Wilmington, NC, and Shelly Campbell Miller of Warren, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren: Abigail and Kathleen Moore, Joshua, Daniel, and Emily Fetter, and Jared, Cameron, and Claire Knecht; a niece, Patricia (Mrs. Howard) Oliver; and two nephews, John Roberts and George Ralston.
Besides her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Roberts; a sister, Margaret Edwards; an infant son; and her son-in-law, F.W. Knecht III.
