Vilma Barbara Novak

NAPLES, FL - Vilma Barbara Novak, 84, formerly of Warren, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Naples Community Hospital. She was born on August 29, 1930 in Oak Park, Illinois, the daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Kaspar) Stepanek.

Vilma was a graduate of Evanston Hospital School of Nursing. She was very active in her community, having been a Girl Scout Leader, Red Cross Volunteer, Trumbull Memorial Hospital Auxiliary & Volunteer, YWCA Board, Chairman and one of the originators of Town Hall, a recipient of T.B. Taylor award, Dig-N-Delve Garden Club, Upton Association & Board Member, Trumbull County Historical Society Board, longtime supporter of the Trumbull Art Guild and a charter member of the Naples Players Guild.

Memories of Vilma will be carried on by son, Andrew S. (Jiwon) Novak of Hastings-On-Hudson, NY; daughter, Amy E. (Shane) Rowley of Hastings-On-Hudson, NY; and six grandchildren, Ashley, Chris, Ansen, Finn, Luca and Cara.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Richard E. Novak, whom she married on November 13, 1954 and he preceded her in death on November 2, 2003; daughter, Linda Sue Novak; son, David E. Novak; and brother, Roy Stepanek.

Family will receive friends Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren. Funeral Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 309 N. Park Ave, Warren on Friday December 5, 2014 at 10:00 am with Reverend Rick Oaks officiating. Services of final committal will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
