Timothy L. Hughes, 65, of Warren, died suddenly Friday, May 20, 2011 at home. He was born May 27, 1945 in Toronto, Ohio, the son of Zygmont and Zella (Starkey) Fudaley, and had lived in Trumbull County most of his life.
A graduate of Leavittsburg High School, Mr. Hughes served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Warren Police Department after 41 years of service, achieving the rank of lieutenant. A loving family man, he enjoyed doing yard work, spending time with his grandchildren, and riding with his sons in their police cars in Indiana. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and VFW Post 1090.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie (Copas) Hughes, whom he married August 3, 1974; three children: Todd D. (Jennifer) of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Melissa A. (Chad) Hathhorn of Warren, and Timothy J. (Shannon) Hughes of Ft. Wayne; six grandchildren: Timothy, Madison, Mackenzie, Makayla, Quinton, and Kellsey; two sisters: Catherine Wirick of Leavittsburg and Shirley (Jim) Masluk of Champion; and a brother, Charles "Sonny" Hughes of Champion. His parents precede him in death.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Fr. Charles Crumbley of St. James Catholic Church officiating. Interment with full military and police honors will follow at Pineview Memorial Park. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
