Thomas R. Wagner

Thomas R. Wagner of Niles, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 8:20 p.m. in Niles. He was 73.

Mr. Wagner was born in Youngstown on May 29, 1944, the son of the late Paul L. and Anne Madden Wagner.

He attended Niles City School System. Thomas retired with over 30 years of employment as a hot shearman at U.S. Steel.

Earlier in life he attended St. Stephen’s Church. Thomas enjoyed singing country music, taking walks throughout the area, and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeye’s fan. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family.

His wife, Karen R. Fillian Wagner whom he married July 6, 1994, passed away on March 21, 2012.

He is survived by, 2 daughters, Gigi Wagner of Niles and Tammy Wagner-Grantz of Warren; 2 step-daughters, Mary Madden and Wendy Jones; a step-son, John Madden; 2 brothers, George and Gary Wagner of Niles; 9 grandchildren, Nikki Jo, Darlene, Travis, Stephanie, Melissa, Heather, Tiffany, Jessie, and Katie; 4 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Thomas was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Wagner and a step-daughter, Carrie Peyatt.

A funeral service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018 in the funeral home.

Inurnment will take place in St. Stephens Cemetery.
