Dr. Thomas N. Richardson, 90, of Warren, died Friday, July 15, 2011 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born March 31, 1921 in Dover, the son of Howard A. and Janet (Morgan) Richardson, and had lived in the Warren area since childhood.
A 1939 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, where he had been senior class president, Dr. Richardson was also a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Optometry and a local optometrist for decades. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Old Erie Lodge #3, F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, Al Koran Shrine, the Buckeye Club, and the Trumbull Country Club. He enjoyed football and golf, and he and Dorothy traveled the world together, including the very first commercial tour of mainland China in the 1970s.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (Whittier) Richardson, whom he married September 4, 1942; and a daughter, Rae Lou (John Michael Reichert) Richardson of Broken Arrow, Okla. Preceding him in death is a brother, Dr. F.W. Richardson.
A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 in the chapel of Christ Episcopal Church, with Rev. Mary Vidmar of St. James Episcopal Church in Boardman officiating. Inurnment in the Christ Episcopal Columbarium will follow. Friends may call 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the church library.
