Thomas McGraw Mylott

Thomas McGraw Mylott, 84, of Howland, died 1:26 AM Sunday, March 26, 2006 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. He was born May 3, 1921 in Youngstown, the son of Thomas F. and Mary (McGraw) Mylott, and had lived in the Warren area since 1965.

Tom was a graduate of Ursuline High School and attended Youngstown State University. He was a Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II, and served with the 90th Reconnaissance Troop (mechanized) during the Normandy invasion. He spent over 40 years in the newspaper business, retiring as advertising manager from the Tribune Chronicle in 1986. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, and visiting his children and grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by his children: Sharon Parker of Lakeland, Fla., Michele Mylott of Gibsonton, Fla., Colleen (Dale) Vaughn of Howland, Thomas C. (Cindy) Mylott of Lakeland, Fla., Kevin (Kathy) Mylott of Amherst, N.Y., and Brigitte (Keith) Medovich of Howland; eight grandchildren: Samantha Hopkins, Melanie Parks, Brad and Brian Vaughn, Travis, Ryan, Shannon, and Ty Mylott; and four great-grandchildren: Raeanne and Veronica Parks, and Emma and Sophie Hopkins. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Mary R. (Connelly) Mylott, whom he married November 25, 1946 and who died March 27, 2002; and three sisters: Mary Louise Kelly, Dorothy Mylott, and Jessie Thornton.

Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Blessed Sacrament Church, with Fr. Donald King officiating. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland. Friends may call 5:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, and 10:00 to 11:00 AM Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Rd.
