Thomas L. Kyser

COLUMBUS, OH - Thomas Lee Kyser, age 76 died, Saturday, August 30, 2014 with his family at his side. He resided in Blacklick, OH, and formerly lived in Champion, Ohio for 48 years. Tom was born in Youngstown, OH, and he was the only child of the late Cecil Cole and Kathryn Morrill Kyser.

He was a graduate of Weathersfield High School and of Youngstown State University. He worked for Packard Electic retiring in 1998. Tom was a member of Mifflin Presbyterian Church of Gahanna, OH and a former member of the Champion Christian Church. Tom especially enjoyed his family as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of many gun collecting organizations, including The American Society of Arms Collectors for over 20 years, a life member of the National Rifle Association, and, Ohio Gun Collectors Association where he served on the Board, and as President and Treasurer. Tom shared a love for country music, the Cleveland Browns and Indians, Ohio State sports, crossword puzzles, reading, playing bridge, and traveling.

Thomas is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Carole Mehlman Kyser, after eloping to Indiana; his loving children, Andrea (Michael) McLane, Timothy Kyser; grandchildren, Alex and Kate McLane.

Family will receive friends Friday, Sept 5, 2014 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.) Gahanna, OH 43230, and on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 N. Park Ave. Warren OH, 44482., with Reverend Ken Hopkins officiating. Interment to follow at Champion Twp. Cemetery.
