Theodore Chulik Ed. D.

Theodore Chulik, Ed. D., 72, of Naples, Florida and formerly of Cortland, Ohio, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003 in Naples.

Dr. Chulik was born on Thursday, March 26, 1931, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of the late Frank and Theresa Chulik. He served on active duty in the U.S. Naval Reserve during the Korean War.

Dr. Chulik graduated from Youngstown South High School in 1949. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from Youngstown State University and a B.S. Ed., M. Ed., and Doctorate from Kent State University.

His industrial experience included thirteen and a half years in the engineering drafting field and supervision.

Dr. Chulik began his teaching experience at Cloverleaf High School in Lodi, Ohio. He also taught at the Akron Hower Vocational High School before entering the Director internship program under the auspices of Kent State University in Berea, Ohio. He served as Vocational Director at the Maple Heights (Ohio) City Schools, before becoming professor and then assistant professor in the Trade and Industrial Education program at Kent State University. He retired from the Trumbull County Joint Vocational School, where he served as the first Vocational Director.

Dr. Chulik was a member of Phi Delta Kappa; Iota Lamba Sigma; Ohio Vocational Association; American Vocational Association; St. William Catholic Church in Champion, Ohio; St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Naples, Florida; the American Legion; Moose Lodge #1012 of Cortland, Ohio; and a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #7491 of Champion, Ohio.

Dr. Chulik is survived by his wife, Anna Marie M. Forgac Chulik, whom he married August 24, 1957.

A memorial service for Dr. Chulik will be held at St. William Catholic Church, 5431 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, on Saturday, November 22, 2003 at 10:00 AM, with Fr. Michael Smar officiating. Friends may call at the church an hour before the service. Inurnment will take place at 1:00 PM Saturday at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
