Thelma G. Hirt

WARREN - Thelma G. Hirt, 85, passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at Lake Vista of Cortland.

She was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Montreal, Canada, the daughter of Myron and Catherine Daley Grove.

Mrs. Hirt was a 1944 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and worked at Second National Bank for several years. She is a descendent of several pioneer families of the Western Reserve and Trumbull County areas and a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church and its Kirk Club.

She was also a member of the Warren Library Association, Fortnightly Study Group, the advisory committee of the National Packard Museum and the Packard International Car Club. She was a charter member of the Historic Perkins Homestead Association.

Thelma is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Michael) Buzulencia of Warren; two granddaughters, Hannah and Hayley Buzulencia; a nephew, Ted (Susie) Hirt of Washington, D.C.; and a grandnephew, Robert Hirt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore A. Hirt, whom she married Jan. 16, 1960, and who died Feb. 1, 2000.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today and from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday in the parlor of First Presbyterian Church. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Revs. Rusty Cowden and Duane Jesse officiating.

Burial will take place in the Oakwood Cemetery, where she served as a member of the board.
