Terri L. Haughton

Terri L. Haughton, 54, of Niles, died peacefully in hospice care from pancreatic cancer 12:45 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Hospice House in Poland. She was born June 25, 1955 in Warren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Harold and Lillian Haughton.

She graduated from Howland High School in 1973, and then began her career in veterinary medicine as a veterinary technician for 32 years, the last 21 of which she was a respected and dedicated employee at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital in Howland.

Beside her children and grandchildren, she dedicated her life to helping animals with all of her skills and knowledge. Over the years, she acquired her pets by rescuing sick or neglected animals that needed her love and attention. She then gave them new and better lives, and all the love they deserved.

She enjoyed camping yearly at Willow Lake and boating at Mosquito Lake with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Amanda Bowman of Niles; a son, Richard T. Grove of Niles; and three grandchildren: Andrew, Madison, and Payton. She also leaves behind a sister and two nieces, and many friends who all loved her deeply.

Terri's life will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Carter of Believers Christian Fellowship officiating. Friends may call 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Per her request, cremation is taking place.
