Warren - Ted M. Pippenger, 82, of Warren, OH, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009. He was born June 16, 1926 in Warren, Ohio, son of the late Todd R. Pippenger and the late Violet Mortimer.
He was a June 1944 graduate of Warren G. Harding and served in the US Navy during World War II. After his honorable discharge he entered into his plumbing apprenticeship with his father, later becoming owner of his father's plumbing firm.
Ted retired in 1991 as owner of the Todd R. Pippenger & Sons Plumbing Co. He was a life long member of Christ Episcopal Church where he served on the vestry and was a long time usher. He was a 50 year member of Old Erie Lodge #3 F & AM, and the Scottish Rite Masonic Orders.
He was a member of the Trumbull Co. Historical Society, Trumbull Town Hall, The Plumbing, Cooling and Heating Contractors Association, and enjoyed bowling and billiards.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Murray McCaslin Pippenger whom he married June 8, 1996, daughter, Pamela Brown of Champion, son, John "Todd" (Kathy) Pippenger, of Cortland, third generation owner of Todd R. Pippenger and Sons Plumbing Co.; sons, George (Nancy) Broughton of Marietta, OH, and Glenn Phillips (Margaret) McCaslin of Prospect, Ky, and daughters, Alice McCaslin of Cayucos, CA, Melinda (LT. Col. Dan) Snead of Buffalo, NY, and Nora McCaslin of Delaware, OH.
He is also survived by granddaughter, Abby Brown of Cleveland, grandson, Joshua Todd Pippenger of Cortland, grandchildren, Charlotte and Ethan Snead of Buffalo, NY, Ian and Caroline McCaslin of Prospect, KY.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Mildred "Millie" Rowlands, whom he married October 6, 1950 and preceded in death August 1, 1993, three sisters Virginia and Gladys Pippenger, Barbara Foley, one brother Robert, and son-in-law Greg Brown.
Friends will be received 9:45- 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 6 at Christ Episcopal Church Narthex. Services will be held in the Church Sanctuary at 11:00 AM with Rev. Donna L. Maree officiating. Old Erie Lodge will conduct services at 9:30 AM in Christ's Chapel. Ted will be honored for his military service by the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard immediately following the services.
