BRISTOLVILLE, OH - On March 4, 2013, the gates of Heaven opened wide to receive Suellen LaRue Kennedy into the waiting arms of her family. Born on March 27, 1961 to the late John and Betty Jane (Brown) Kennedy in Youngstown, Ohio.
If you met her, you were sure to hear about her 46 nieces and nephews. She was so proud of them all. She would be sure to ask about your family also.
She enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, Ohio State, Jeff Gordon, the Bristol Panthers and Fairhaven Bulldogs. She bowled for many years on Mary Jane Special Bowlers League. She enjoyed going to her great nieces and nephews sporting events.
She was the kindest, gentlest, purist person on Earth. But don't dare touch her newspaper sports pages, cards, puzzles, lite brite and word search books! She had a vast amount of friends and family. She had many special cousins.
She was blessed with many people in her life that brought her great joy, but we all feel that we were the truly blessed ones. If you had the great fortune of meeting her once, you had a friend forever. She'd remember you and your birth date. She truly enjoyed her friends at Fairhaven Workshop and on the bus. She enjoyed her drivers and aides through the years. She had an extended family that she asked about always.
Another way to spell love was SUE!
Cherished memories are left behind with her sister, Peg (Don) Mullenax of Bristolville; brother, John (Jean) Kennedy of North Bloomfield; brother, Chuck (Linda) Kennedy of Middlefield; sister, Linda Upshire of Bristolville; brother, Ron (Kate) Kennedy of Bristolville; brother, Gary (Karen) Dimsdale of Liberty, MO and 46 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Kennedy; mother, Betty Jane (Brown) Kennedy-Dimsdale; brother, James "Jimbo" Kennedy; sister, Patty Dimsdale and step-father, Jack Dimsdale.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren, from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the funeral service Thursday, March 7, at 1:00 pm at the Bristolville United Methodist Church. Pastors Roger Norton and Shirley Frantz will officiate. Final committal services and internment will be at Sager Cemetery.
