Steven P. DeCost, Sr.

WARREN - Steven P. DeCost, Sr., 62, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 at Cleveland Clinic Hospital surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 3, 1952 in Kingwood, West Virginia, the son of the late Robert and Ruth (Mulvey) DeCost.

He was a graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School. Steve was the owner/operator of ADM Tire & Automotive for 25 years. He was a member of Blessed John Paul II Parish and the VFW 1090. Steve enjoyed cooking, dancing, his boxer dogs, NASCAR and an avid fan of the WV Mountaineers. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Memories of Steven will be carried on by his wife and high school sweetheart, Debra (Slyk) DeCost of Warren, whom he married March 6, 1971; son, Steven P. DeCost, Jr. of Warren; son, Chad (Tammy) DeCost of Newton Falls; daughter, Kristina (Christopher, his caregiver and best friend) Tominey of Warren; grandchildren, Chad G. (Violet) DeCost, Nicholas DeCost, Dalton DeCost, Alexis DeCost, Chad R. DeCost, Jr., Alex Steven Tominey, and Chase Joseph Tominey; great-granddaughter, Gianna DeCost; brother, Robert D. DeCost of Easton, PA; father-in-law, Robert Slyk and mother-in-law, Norma Slyk, both of Warren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved grandson, Blake Christopher Tominey; and brother, Randy A. DeCost.

Family will receive friends Friday, October 17, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren and Saturday, October 18, 2014, one hour prior to service. Services will be held at McFarland & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10:30 am with Fr. Christopher Henyk officiating. Services of final committal will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.

His family suggests contributions be made in the form of donations to Blessed John Paul II Parish, 1401 Moncrest Dr NW, Warren, Ohio 44485.
