Sterling O. Perrine

Sterling Orrin Perrine, 88, long time resident of Warren died peacefully August 8, 2010 surrounded by family. He was born Nov 11, 1921 in Stoneboro, PA. The son of Donald C and Jessie (Rough) Perrine. He married Betty Jean Murray formerly of Anderson, IN, on March 7, 1942, whom he was happily married to for 60 years.

He worked as a mechanical engineer, draftsman, chief design engineer, retiring as a Production Manager after 44 years from Wean Engineering. A 1940 graduate of Warren G. Harding. Sterling was a veteran of WWII and served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Carroll F. Clapp Lodge #655 F. & A. M., BMW MOA group, and a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Warren.

Sterling was most proud of his accomplishments throughout his lifetime. One of which being traveling America and seeing the entire country on his motorcycle. He also enjoyed wood carving, traveling, the ocean, deep sea fishing, spending time with his family and friends, gardening, feeding the birds and reading books.

Surviving are his children, Larry Perrine and partner Maxine Tunis of Superior AZ, and Brenda (John) Perrine-Ritzler, with whom he made his home in Niles. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Betty, and two brothers, Ralph and Donald.

Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 11, at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home. They may also call from 10a.m. - 11a.m. Thursday with services following at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rusty Cowden officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna. The family would like to thank Celtic Hospice for their kind and compassionate services.
