Stephen L. "Butch" Prokop, 54, of Lordstown, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at Alter Care in Ravenna. He was born November 26, 1950 in Warren, the son of Loretta Gooden Prokop and the late Peter Prokop, and had lived in the Warren area all his life.
Mr. Prokop was a graduate of Lordstown High School and attended Trumbull Business College. He worked in sales, particularly in the automotive industry, for many years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Warren and enjoyed old cars, car races, food, and puzzles.
Surviving Mr. Prokop are his wife, Vicki Lutz Prokop, whom he married October 25, 1975; his mother of Lordstown; a son, Scott R. Prokop, stationed in Hawaii for the U.S. Army; two daughters: Abby S. Prokop of Warren and Sarah J. Prokop of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sisters: Karen (Gene) Miller of Gahanna and Laurie (Tim) Draper of Columbus; and two brothers: Don (Joyce) Prokop of Lordstown and Ron (Kelly) Prokop of McDonald.
His father preceded him in death.
Services wil be 11:00 AM Monday, July 18, 2005 at First United Methodist Church, 309 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Rev. Rick Oaks officiating. Interment at Lordstown Village Cemetery will follow. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at the church.
