Shirley Gosser

CORTLAND - Shirley G. Gosser, 78, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at her residence. Shirley was born on October 27, 1934 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Goldberg) Gerke.

Shirley was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a 1955 graduate of Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed by Warren City Schools as a Registered Nurse for 27 years. She was an active member of Ohio Association of School Nurses, and Central Christian Church even served as Deacon. She was also an active volunteer as a "Pink Lady" at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, and the Friends of the Warren Library book sales. Shirley enjoyed being a wife and mother as well as spending time with family and friends.

Memories of Shirley will be carried on by her second husband, Roger Gosser of Cortland, whom she married November 11, 1986. She will also be sadly missed by her children, Kimberly Adgate of Cortland; John Adgate, Jr. of Ft. Myers, FL; Roger Gosser, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; Jill (Thomas) Felicetty of Lordstown; brother, William (Patricia) Gerke; and grandchildren: Brittney Adgate, Michelle and Brett Felicetty.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Jack Adgate, whom she married January 7, 1956 and passed away on September 4, 1985.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Services will be held at Central Christian Church in Warren on Friday May 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steven Brown officiating. Services of final committal will follow at Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.

Her family suggests contributions may be made in Shirley's name to Central Christian Church Memorial Fund, 2051 E. Market St. Warren, OH 44483.
