Shirley A. Doan

NILES - Shirley A. Doan, age 75, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born on September, 11, 1939 in Punxsutawney, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Karaffa) Filitske.

Shirley was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed taking care of her family. She had worked for Super KMart for many years in a variety of departments, and enjoyed reading books, doing puzzles, and gardening

Memories of Shirley will be carried on by her sons, Richard (Alra Thornesberry) Doan of Warren, and, Michael (Suzy) Doan of Kennesaw, GA., and her long time companion, Richard Davis.

Preceding her in death was her brother, Michael Filitske who passed away in 1988.

Friends are invited for a Celebration of Life for Shirley on Thursday, January, 15, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Services in Warren, with a Memorial Service to follow. Cremation has taken place.
