Sandra J. Pettenati, 52, of Champion, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 11, 1956 in Warren, the daughter of Eugene and Jean (Shipman) Rowley, and lived in Trumbull County all her life.
Sandy was a 1974 graduate of Lakeview High School and a 1985 graduate of the Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in the operating room at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for more than twenty years. She lived an active and full life and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and young grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 33 years, Robert F. Pettenati; her mother, Jean Rowley of Cortland; three daughters: Angela (Francesco) Restaino of Warren, Kathryn Pettenati of Chicago, Ill., and Nicole Pettenati of Warren; two grandchildren, Daniel and Abigail Restaino; two sisters, Susan Rowley of New York and Patricia (James) Rowley Ayers of Wilmington, Delaware; and a brother, David (Susan) Rowley of Gustavus. Her father precedes her in death.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Joe Doran, director of chaplains at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, officiating. Interment will follow at Gustavus Township Cemetery. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
