Ruth M. Stahl

Ruth M. Stahl, 83 of Cortland, OH, died Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born March 5, 1927 in Madison, OH, the daughter of Elton and Mary Ellen (Hoffman) Cator.

An almost lifelong resident of Mecca, Ruth enjoyed crafts, gardening, homemaking arts as well as taking care of and enjoying her family. Ruth spent many years as a home heath aid, assisting many elderly persons spend their final time at home. Ruth also served as a Board of Elections precinct worker for many years.

Surviving are her children, Maxine (Ralph) Ritter of Strongsville, Kimberly Miller of Ravenna, son, Robert (Susan) Stahl of Warren, granddaughters, Debbie Dunford, Jennifer Prusak, Elizabeth Vilicka, Lauren and Rachel Miller; great-grandchildren; Samantha and Ryan Prusak, Michaela Miller and Ella Vilicka; and her sister, Rita Longberry of Chardon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Stahl whom she married November 27, 1947, her sister Ruby Shafer, and two brothers, Bob and Ralph Cator.

Services will be held at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Monday, December 27, 2010 at 7:00 PM with The Rev. Rusty Cowden of the First Presbyterian Church, Warren, officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Mecca Twp, Cemetery at a later date. Material Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 N.
