Ruth H. Myers, age 81 of Cortland, died Friday, July 22, 2005 at her residence. She was born in Warren, March 30, 1924, the daughter of Harry and Bertha (Bender) Engster.
Mrs. Myers was co-owner with her husband Thomas P. Myers of the Fred H. Myers Jewelers in downtown Warren. She was involved in many community and church activities and sang in the choir of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church for many years. She was a graduate of the Warren G. Harding High School and a member of Cotillion Dancers and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
Besides her husband whom she married November 5, 1946, she is survived by three daughters: Nancy L. (Neil) Norton of Tucson, AZ, Linda R. Myers of North Hills, CA, and Susan A. (Bruce) York of Warren, three grandchildren, Laura and Jeremy York and Tracy Norton, and a brother, Harry Engster of Warren. She was preceded in death by infant son Thomas.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home where friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again an hour before services. The Rev. Dwayne Jessie of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will officiate with committal services following at Crown Hill Burial Park.
