Ruth W. Lawrence

Ruth W. Lawrence, 98, of Warren, died at home 11:30 PM Friday, November 24, 2006. She was born May 15, 1908 in Riceville, Iowa, the daughter of Rollin J. and Cora (Smith) Wildman, and had lived in the Warren area most of her adult life.

Mrs. Lawrence graduated from Elyria (Ohio) High School and the College of Battle Creek (Mich.). She worked as a dietician for Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Josephine Lawrence of Warren, with whom she made her home; her son, Michael (Suzanne) Lawrence of Essex Junction, Vt.; eight grandchildren: Johanna (David) Cory, Jonah Lawrence, and Amanda Lawrence, all of Brooklyn, N.Y., Emily (Dan) Imler of Dana Point, Calif., Matthew Lawrence and Benjamin Lawrence, both of Burlington, Vt., Bryan Chenvert and Andrew Lawrence, both of Essex Junction, Vt.; and three great-grandchildren: Ethan, Jahvon, and Katie Ruth. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Willard Sumner "Chuck" Lawrence, whom she married November 25, 1937 and who died August 5, 1995; her uncle and aunt, Henry and Gertrude Heidrich, who raised her; a sister, Myrtle Johnson; and two brothers: Smith Wildman and Kenneth Heidrich.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2006 in the chapel of Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44483, with Rev. Donna Maree Carr officiating. Friends may call 2:00 to 3:00 PM Wednesday in the church's library. In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made to Forum Health at Home-Hospice, 8747 Squires Lane N.E., Warren, Ohio 44484.
