WARREN - Ruth L Henry, 93, departed this life on December 31, 2014, at Shepherd of the Valley-Howland with her loving and devoted family keeping vigil by her side. Ruth was born November 15, 1921, in Wheeling, WV to the late Ethel V. Cunningham White and John H. White.

She was united in marriage to the love of her life, the late Arch P. Henry on March 15, 1941, who preceded her in death on March 24, 1976. From this union, three daughters were born.

Throughout her life, Ruth had an insatiable and inquisitive appetite for learning. She had the ability to view difficult life problems as simply a challenge to be overcome. Loving, caring, strong, and resilient, she was excited about learning new skills and knowledge. Mastering golf in her 40's, cross country skiing in her 60's, she was an avid participant in "Road Scholar" learning programs.

She was employed at the Ravenna Arsenal during the Vietnam War in telecommunications. Ruth retired in 1986 as a telecommunications specialist from Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories, daughters, Bonnie Maki, Kathy (Edward) Johnson, Beth (Dominic) Meloro; four grandchildren, Jason Johnson, Jaime B. Johnson, Anthony (Amy) Meloro, Ross (Jessica) Meloro; and one great grandchild, Oliver Henry Meloro.

She was preceded in death by her twin siblings, Roy J. White and Robert L. White.

Ruth's family will receive friends from noon till 1:00 pm. on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Ave., Warren, Ohio. The Rev. Yesudas "Pastor Dan" Devadan will officiate. Private inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank all those who provided comforting care for Ruth through her illness, especially the staff of Shepherd of the Valley-Howland and Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, Ruth requested that donations be made directly to American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St. Canfield, OH 44406. Her beloved husband died prematurely as a result of complications due to cancer.
