Ruth C. Allen

Ruth C. Allen, 75, of Warren, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Hospice House in Poland. She was born September 29, 1935 in Warren, the daughter of Leroy and Olive (Wright) Cox, and had lived in the Warren area all her life.

A 1953 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Ruth was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. She had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Boruh. She enjoyed baking, crafts, card-making, playing games with family and friends, and most of all, her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Donald L. Allen, whom she married September 1, 1956; three children: Timothy L. Allen of Westerville, Kathy J. (Dan) Omlor of Dayton, John Allen of Warren and daughter-in-law Laura Allen of Warren; and eight grandchildren: Kirsten and Jared Allen, Kara, Jacob, Joshua, and Kadie Omlor, and Carly and Kylene Allen. Her parents precede her in death.

Services are 12:00 noon Friday, October 29, 2010 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Walter Carvin and Rev. James Baer officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Friday at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, Ohio 44514.
