Russell Peppy

Russell Peppy, 83, of Warren, died 5:00 AM Friday, September 23, 2005 at Horizon Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Warren. He was born September 22, 1922 in Jersey City, N.J., the son of Frank and Rose (Leato) Peppy, and had lived in the Warren area most of his life.

Russ served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked for 40 years as an inspector at Thomas Steel Strip Corp. He enjoyed reading, traveling, learning foreign languages, and sports. He had been an avid handball player, and belonged to the YMCA for many years.

Russ is survived by three sisters: Toni Spong, Jennie Peppy, and Lee (Robert H.) Wilson, all of Warren; a brother, David Peppy of Warren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; a brother, Daniel Peppy; and a sister, Rachel Langworthy.

Graveside services for Russ will be 1:15 PM Monday, September 26, 2005 at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren. Friends may call at McFarland & Son Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday.
