Russell L. Alfred

Russell L. Alfred, 79, of Warren, died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at St. Joseph's Health Center. He was born January 15, 1926 in Warren, the son of the late Harry R. and Blanche Llewellyn Alfred, and had lived in the Warren area all his life.

Mr. Alfred was a 1945 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, and later attended the New York Institute of Photography. He had worked in the shipping/receiving department for the May Company. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was well-known to all who came to downtown Warren and was often called "Mayor."

Mr. Alfred is survived by many friends. Preceding him in death are his parents, four sisters, and six brothers.

Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Oaks officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday. Material contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 309 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481.
