Rudolph (Rudy) L. Riffle, 91, of Warren, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 26, 2007. He was born February 16, 1916 in Dillonvale, Ohio the son of John and Mary (Forsek) Riffle. He was a long-time resident of Warren, Howland, and later Vienna, Ohio.

Mr. Riffle was a 1934 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in Europe during his Army service in WWII. He worked for 26 years at the Warren Post Office until his retirement in 1973. He was a member of the Howland Community Church.

Surviving are two sons, Curtis (Karen Scussel) Riffle of Los Altos, CA; David (Christine) Riffle of Woodinville, WA.; five sisters, Victoria Merrifield, Ann (Edwin) Baker, Josephine Laakso, Dorothy Williams, and Pauline Varga; and four grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Dorothy who died in 1976; a daughter Jane McKinnie; four brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Riffle's memory to the Howland Community Church, 198 Niles-Cortland Road S.E., Warren, Ohio 44484. Services will be at 11;00 a.m. on June 4, 2007 at Crown Hill Burial Park Chapel, Vienna Ohio. There will be no calling hours.
