Roy N. Stowe, 81, of Warren, died at 11:15 PM Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at Washington Square Nursing Center in Warren.
He was born Monday, July 3, 1922, in New Hampshire, Ohio, the son of the late Harvey Nelson and Clara Ann Wagner Stowe.
Mr. Stowe was a graduate of Chalker High School and worked for 37 years as a millwright at Thomas Steel, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed fishing and tying fishing lures.
Mr. Stowe served in the U.S. Navy in World War II as a Gunner's Mate in the Pacific.
Surviving Mr. Stowe are two sons, Robert N. Stowe and David L. Stowe, both of Warren; a grandson, U.S. Marine Christopher N. Stowe, and his wife Brandi, of North Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Alicia Stowe of North Carolina; and a sister, Betty Rinda of Melbourne, Florida.
Preceding Mr. Stowe in death are his parents; his wife, Jean Loretta Fellows Stowe, whom he married November 1, 1948 and who died August 8, 1999; a sister, Patricia Sines; and a brother, Charles Stowe.
Funeral services for Mr. Stowe will be 11:00 AM Monday, December 22, 2003, at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Rev. Anita Rayburn officiating. Interment will follow at Greene Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
