Roy McFadden

Youngstown, Ohio - E. LeRoy McFadden, 97, formerly of Warren, passed away peacefully Monday, February 1, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital-Youngstown, Inc. (Warren Campus). He was born on November 19, 1918 in Butler, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Elmer and Carrie Diehl McFadden.

Roy taught math for 5 years in the Vienna School District & 29 years at Howland High School until he retired in 1983. He had also worked for the Van Huffel Tube Corporation from 1937 until 1941. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Howland Retired Teachers Assn, Trumbull Retired Teachers Assn, Ohio Education Assoc, and Northeast Ohio Education Assoc.

Mr. McFadden graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1937, earned his Bachelors degree in Education from Youngstown College and Masters of Education from University of Pittsburgh and did post graduate studies at Kent State University. He served his country in the US Army during World War II from 1941 until 1945, after receiving his honorable discharge.

Memories of Roy will be carried on by sister,Catherine Young of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, niece, Shirley (Richard) Flanagan of Denver, CO, niece, Irma Jean Wahilstedt of Spokane Washington, nephews Bob McCorkle, of Boston and Jim McCorkle of San Diego, CA, He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, E. Jean McCorkle McFadden and his 2nd wife, Eleanor A. Martin Belter McFadden.

A memorial service to honor Mr. McFadden will be Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at The First Presbyterian Church in Warren.
