AUSTINTOWN - Roy Wallace Brown, 84, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House, Saturday, August 10th, 2024.
The youngest of five children, Roy was born May 20th 1940, in Youngstown, to the late Milo Burrows Brown and Ruth O’Neil Brown. He was raised by his mother and grandmother, Margaret Walkingshaw Nelson O’Neil. He attended school in Austintown and North Lima before graduating from East High in 1958.
Roy met his wife, Judy Harsney Brown while working at the Austintown A&P. They were married Oct. 8th, 1960 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. They would have celebrated 64 years of marriage this fall.

Roy found great solace in his faith. He was a member at Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, where he served on the board of elders and enjoyed his Tuesday morning Men’s Prayer Group.
Roy kept up a busy social schedule including the Sunday School bowling league, hunting and fishing at the New Middletown Hunt Club, coaching and managing teams for Austintown Slow Pitch Softball leagues, playing the baritone in the Canfield Community Band and helping to run the Tabernacle golf league.
