Roy Blackstone

Warren, Ohio - Roy A. Blackstone, Sr., 90, passed, Thursday, January 19, 2017 at St. Joseph's Health Center. He was born on July 13, 1926 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Roy and Elsie Williams Blackstone.

Roy was employed by Cox L. Photography as a graphic photographer and for Thumm's Bike Shop for many years. He enjoyed photography, skeet shooting and golf.

He served his country in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Ohio and National Landing Ship Tank Association and served in the Pacific Theater 1944 till1946.

Memories of Roy will be carried on by wife, Margaret Hillman Blackstone of Warren, son, Roy Blackstone, Jr. of Woodstock, GA; daughter Peggy Diane Roberts of Cortland, and Ruth Ann (Thomas) Simmons of Hendersonville, NC.

He was preceded in death by his twin sister Elsie Mae Wensel.

Military honors will be present at 11 am, Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery, 860 Niles Rd. SE, Warren, OH 44483.
