Rose G. Boyd, 91, of Howland, died 9:22 PM Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. She was born December 12, 1914 in North East, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Robert and Beulah Louisa Smith Grimshaw, and had lived in Trumbull County for over 60 years.

Mrs. Boyd was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Warren and a former member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in North East. She had been a 4-H Advisor for sewing for over 25 years, and had also been active with Girl Scouts and the Trumbull County Home Extension. She enjoyed tending her vineyard at the family homestead in North East.

Surviving are a daughter, Roselyn (Roger) Carnahan of Liberty; a son, Robert W. Boyd of Howland; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Boyd of Howland; eight grandchildren: Alan B. (Lisa) and Douglas E. Carnahan, both of Boardman, Cheryl L. Steele of Highland Heights, Ky., James R. (Heather) Carnahan of Elyria, Roger W. (Susan) Boyd of Branson, Mo., Donald C. Boyd of Mineral Ridge, David W. Boyd of Cortland, and Karen R. (Jim) Milner of Copperas Cove, Tex.; ten great-grandchildren: Zachary, Allyson, Emily, Alex, and Elizabeth Rose Carnahan, Chloe, Anthony L., Tiffany, and Anthony J. Boyd, and Jonathan Milner. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, William W. Boyd, Sr., whom she married June 24, 1939 and who died October 26, 1979; a son, William W. Boyd, Jr. who died May 6, 2006; a brother, Charles Grimshaw; and two sisters, Leona Wagner and Jane Calkins.

Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 17, 2006 at Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44483, with Rev. Donna L. Maree officiating. Interment will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at North East Cemetery in North East, Pa. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, and 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at Christ Episcopal Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1130, Fairfax, Virginia 22038-1130.
