Ronald W. Nelson

MASURY - Ronald W. Nelson, 48, died Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Louis Stokes VA Medical Center-Wade Park. He was born on October 17, 1965 in Youngstown, the son of George and Virginia (Thomas) Nelson, Sr.

Ronald was a graduate of Hubbard High School and was employed by General Extrusions, Inc. as a fabricator. He was a member of the Saturday Night Pin Heads Bowling Team at Thornton Hall Bowling Lanes, Sharon, PA.

He served his country in the Army during Gulf War.

Memories of Ronald will be carried on by wife, Lisa (Willis) Nelson of Masury, whom he married July 6, 1991; father, George Nelson, Sr. of Brookfield; daughters, Ember (Chris Everhart) Nelson of Masury, Jennifer Nelson of Masury, and Ashley Johnson of KY; sons, Brandon Clark of Hubbard, and John Johnson of KY; four grandchildren; grandfather, William Vekasey of Girard; brother, George Nelson, Jr. of Columbus; and sister, Debra Kiler of Youngstown.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Nelson; grandmother, Margaret Vekasey; father-in-law, Robert Willis; and mother in-law, Shirley Willis.

A Gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at McFarland and Son Funeral Home in Warren. A Memorial Service will follow with full military honors presented by the American Legion Post #540 Honor Guard.
