Roland B. Durney

Roland B. "Ron" Durney, 82, of Warren, died Saturday May 19, 2007 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born August 12, 1924 in Conneaut Lake, Pa., the son of Rolland M. and Ruth M. (Porter) Durney, and had lived in Trumbull County for nearly 60 years.

Mr. Durney served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He had worked as a metal fabricator for Howland Machine. He enjoyed gardening, work, and his family.

Surviving are his wife, Lois (Armstrong) Durney, whom he married July 11, 1944; three daughters: Leeann Phillips of Warren, Atty. Ronda Durney of Bowling Green, and Atty. Alita (Don) Glardon of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren: Edward F. IV (Debbie), Andrea S., Veronica M., and Jonathan J. Phillips, Tammy S. Dean, Wendy S. (Mark) Bush, and Katie A. and Kurt T. Glardon; and three great-grandchildren: Logen Phillips, and Michael and David Bush. Preceding him in death are his parents; a sister, June Durney Martin; and a brother, Albert George Durney.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Burt McGlawn of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Champion Township Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
