Robert M. Robison

Robert M. Robison, 76, of Bristolville, died Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born October 3, 1931 in Port Matilda, Pa. the son of Ira and Amber (Cowher) Robison.

Mr. Robison served in the U.S. Army and worked for 34 years as a train operator for Republic Steel and LTV, retiring in 1990. A longtime Bristolville resident, he once owned a restaurant in the township. He belonged to the Moose Lodge in Niles, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, trains, cooking, and was a John Deere collector. He loved to grow tomatoes in his garden and make tomato juice.

Surviving are his wife, JoAnn (Sharpe) Robison, whom he married December 1, 1990; four stepsons: Kevin Miner of Bristolville, Dwayne (Deborah) Miner of Cincinnati, Robert (Ashley) Miner of Warren, and Brian (LaVette) Robison of Warren; eight grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Ghaner of Bellefonte, Pa.; and two brothers, Charles (Barb) Robison of Dubois, Pa., and Donald (Herbie) Robison of Port Matilda. Preceding him in death are his parents; a son, Robert "Robby" Robison, who died in 2007; three grandchildren; a sister, Irene Cranno; and five brothers, Jim, Theo, Norman, David, and Ralph Robison.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Byron Powers of the Leavittsburg Church of God officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland, with full military honors. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
