Robert R. Robertson

Robert R. Robertson, Sr., 84, of Warren, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at St. Joseph Health Center. He was born March 28, 1924 in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Edith Hulick.

Mr. Robertson served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked 38 years for Republic and LTV Steel, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed fishing, camping, taking trips in his motorhome, and, most of all, his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 66 years, Dorothy (Wheeler) Robertson, whom he married August 13, 1942; his children: Donna J. (Fallie) Bennett of Ravenna, Thelma M. (Russell) Matthews of Rootstown, Paul L. (Cathleen) Robertson of Leavittsburg, Pamela M. (Michael) Hayden of Windham, and Bill J. (Gena) Robertson of Bristolville; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents and a son, Robert R. Robertson, Jr.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Brad Edder of Edinburg Church of God in Ravenna officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Knoll Cemetery. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
