ESTERO, Fla. - Robert E. "Bob, Bobbie, Daddyo" Pennock, 68, of Estero, formerly of Warren, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, while shooting pool at Diamonds Billiards in Cape Coral for the Lee County Senior Games.
Bob was born Dec. 27, 1945, in Great Falls, Mont., the son of Richard Pennock and Florence Dusek Baggenstos, who are deceased.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966, and was honorably discharged. After the war, he worked for the Youngstown Post Office and retired in 2000 after 30 years of service.
He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Buckeye State Chapter 8, the Elks Lodge and the VFW Post 1090, both in Warren. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 303 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1454, both in Bonita Springs, Fla.
His hobbies were playing pool, playing the guitar, riding his Harley and bicycle, dancing, fishing, hunting, crossword puzzles and NASCAR.
Bob leaves a son, Zachary C. Pennock; sisters, Patty Beeson and Lyn Wilson; and his sweetie, Janine Byrnes. He also leaves many friends, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mick Bakhus.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the Clubhouse at Corkscrew Woodlands, 21600 Corkscrew Woodlands Blvd., Estero. Graveside services with military honors will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the Sarasota National Cemetery. Burial will follow.
