Robert E. Duncan

Newton Falls--Robert E. Duncan, 87, died December 27, 2009 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

A Newton Falls resident since 1981, Mr. Duncan previously resided in Florida. He was born in Stow Corners, Ohio, on Sept. 4, 1922, the son of the late Rush and Mina Duncan.

Mr. Duncan leaves his wife of 64 years, Shirley M. Bates Duncan and children Larry A. Duncan of Newton Falls, William J. Duncan and Patricia (Chris) Jordan of Columbus. He is also survived by five granddaughters and three great grandchildren.

He retired in 1979 after 39 years of service as an over-the-road truck driver for Chief Freight Lines. He enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting and woodworking. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Ind.
